According to Rajkumar Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and a circular issued by the Prime Minister, the kingdom of Bahrain has declared a two -day public holiday in adherence to Ashura. All ministries, government departments, agencies and public institutions will remain closed on Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Extended brakes due to weekend
As is already part of the official weekend (Friday-Saturday) of Bahrain on Saturday, on Monday, July 7, the day will be compensated. It effectively gives government employees a long weekend from Friday to Monday in a long weekend. Bahrain’s holiday structure is often adjusted for weekends to get full benefit of the declared holidays declared to public employees. The tall weekend offers an extended break to residents and government workers to Mark Ashura, which is an important religious opportunity throughout the region. General operations in public institutions will resume on Tuesday, July 8.
