Deadly attack in Pakistan: top 5 out of 5 killed as roadside bombs; Police blame taliban
According to local police cited by news agency AP, five people, including a senior local administrator, were killed when a roadside bomb injured a government vehicle in north -western Pakistan on Wednesday, injuring 11 others.The attack took place in a tribal district in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which had been seen as a shelter for long -term militant groups. Among the dead, Assistant Commissioner Faisal Sultan was a senior government official. District Police Chief Wakas Rafiq said that the injured were rushed to the hospital, in which many were in critical condition.
Although no group claimed responsibility, authorities suspect to be behind the attack on Pakistani Taliban, or Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The group is responsible for the recent attacks, which is responsible for the recent attacks targeting security personnel and civil servants in the region. The TTP is closely connected to the Afghan Taliban and has gained renewed since the fall of Kabul in 2021.

The bombing follows a deadly suicide attack in another resting district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in North Waziristan last Saturday, where 16 soldiers died when a terrorist surrounded an explosive-laden vehicle in a military convoy. The attack was claimed by a faction of Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, Pakistani Taliban.Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist violence along its western border, with more than 290 people kill security personnel killed in alone attacks this year.
