Pune: Passengers aboard the Goa-to-Pan SpiceJet Flight (SG-1080) were scared on Tuesday evening when a window panel was found to be disorganized in the middle of the aircraft. The airline performed the incident, stating that the window part that was closed was “a non-structural trim component, which was fit on the window for the purpose of the shadow”.But a person on the aircraft – a Bombardier Q400 – told TOI that the incident triggered anxiety among passengers. “Two to three layers of the window panel were simply closed,” the passenger, Atish Mishra said.He said, “There was no depression, but it should not have happened … We have only a tragic aircraft accident,” he said. The airline issued a statement stating: “One of the Q400 aircraft of SpiceJet loosened a cosmetic window frame and was found to be chaotic. It is important to note that it was a non-structural trim component, which did not fit the window for the purpose of the shadow, and in no way the aircraft was safety or speculation.,Mishra said that he was in a line 8 when he heard a ruckus from the back. Q400 can give seats to about 80 passengers. A SpiceJet spokesperson said that the frame was decided after landing, “according to standard maintenance procedures”.
