New Delhi: Before Ghana on Thursday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a series of best Indian handicrafts for top dignitaries in Akra, underlined cultural diplomacy and showed India’s artistic heritage.During his official visit, PM Modi addressed Ghana’s Parliament and the founding leader of the country, Dr. Quame Nakramah paid tribute to the Nakramah Memorial Park, with Ghana Vice President Professor Nana Jane Jane Jane Opoku-Eggmang. Modi told Ghana’s Parliament in the day, “The history of India and Ghana is a mark of colonial rule, but our souls are always free and fearless.”He also met with Indian migrant representatives and wrote on X: “Today it was amazing to interact with the members of Ghana Parliament after my address today. It was a pleasure to hear its kind of words about India. ,Following his busyness, PM Modi left for Trinidad and Tobago in the second phase of his five-nation tour, stating that he is on X: “Left to Trinidad and Tobago … is ready to deepen the relationship with a valuable partner in Caribbean, with whom we share very old cultural relations.”As he concluded Ghana’s journey, the Prime Minister presented four specific gifts, each of which represents the rich traditions of Indian craftsmanship.
Gift to Ghana’s President: Bidarware Vase
PM Modi presented President John Mahama with a pair of Bidarware Vases in Bidar, Karnataka. These vases are observed for their black finish and fine silver inle, which is a hallmark of centuries old metal crafts. Using a zinc-copper alloy, vases are engraved with floral motifs and undergoes a unique oxidation process to achieve their prestigious appearance. They are a symbol of harmony and solidarity and reflect the deep artisans of Karnataka.

For Lordina Mahama, PM Modi gifted a silver Philigry Work Purse from Cuttack, Odisha. This complex coaching craft, which is more sophisticated than five centuries, has delicate floral and vine patterns made with fine silver wires. Ghana’s vice -president received a Kashmiri Pashmina shawl made of soft undercoat of Changthangi goat. It is known for its warmth and tenderness, the shawl facilitates hand -harsh flowers and pacele motifs. Each piece involves labor-intensive hand-spinning and weaving, causing it to both a luxurious dress and a tribute to India’s famous textile heritage.

The speaker, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin was presented with Ambavari, a small elephant from West Bengal.
