An Indian -origin woman, Sharanjit Kaur, has been sentenced to four years in jail after being convicted for careless driving due to Jonathan Baker’s death. The road rage was held on 27 June last year and was sentenced by Hamilton District Court, New Zealand. According to reports, Kaur was triggered after seeing a picture of her former, which was referred to in court documents with his wife and family in an Indian restaurant. It is not clear whether the man was his former or present partner or not. Kaur faced the man and then started following his wife, which Mrs. R. The court documents revealed that Kaur tried to scare high speed, tailgating, brake-checking, and intimidating her. He drove carelessly on the wrong side of Boyd Road at a speed between 125–136 km/h before the Baker’s vehicle collapsed in the vehicle. He died immediately and Kaur faced minor injuries.

‘Mistress chased his wife … like a bad novel’

49 -year -old Baker’s widow Andrea told the court how much she was destroyed when she received the news of her husband’s death. He said that his Christianity inspired him to forgive Kaur. “I am forgiven for a long time for me … I forgive you, my hope is with you listening to these words … learn from it and do something good.”Baker’s mother -in -law Choline told the court that Kaur killed a completely innocent person. “Mistress chasing the wife … is beyond comprehension, it is like a bad novel”.He said that a drunken or drug driver – or even an angry wife chased a mistress – something was understood.Kaur’s lawyer Anjit Singh said that she knows that she cannot say anything that will reduce the pain of the bakers, but her customer “accepts the entire responsibility”. He said that the photo “led a psychological collapse … some more anger”.
