Pakistan Air Force Chief to strengthen defense cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan’s air staff chief Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu paid the US official visit to further enhance bilateral defense cooperation after Marshal Asim Munir, the main region of the army. This was the first visit by a serving Pakistan Air Force (PAF) chief in over a decade, indicating to increase military busyness between Pakistan and the US.A PAF statement said on Wednesday: “This high-level journey is a strategic milestone in the Pak-US Defense Partnership. The journey will play an important role in building major regional and global security issues as well as institutional relations.” It further said that Sidhu held several important meetings with the country’s top military and political leadership during a visit to America.At the Pentagon, he met Air Force US Secretary Kelly L. Seybolt for international affairs and Air Force Chief of Staff General David W. Elon, where both sides agreed to create new avenues for bilateral military cooperation, mutual matters, joint training and technology exchange. The PAF chief highlighted the historic and multidimensional relations between Pakistan and the US, especially in the defense sector.Sidhu reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen the current relations between the Air Force of the two countries in the areas of military cooperation and training. During detailed discussions, the two sides also agreed to establish high-level military relations in the future.The statement stated that he reiterated his commitment to create new avenues for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including joint training, operational practice and exchange programs, and to intensify efforts for this purpose, the statement said in the statement.During his visit to the US State Department, Sidhu met the brown L Stanley of the Bureau of Political and Military Affairs and Eric Mayor of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs. The statement said that meetings highlighted Pakistan’s creative role in promoting regional stability. President Donald Trump traveled the journey weeks after hosting Munir for lunch, followed by a detailed meeting between the two.
