Mumbai: A investigation by the Maharashtra government has revealed that a total of 2,289 women government employees were the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Ladki Bahin Yojana, State Development Minister Aditi Tatkere said in a written reply to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. On identification, the benefits of the plan for women were discontinued, Tatkere said. The objective of the Ladki Bahin scheme launched by the Women and Child Development Department and the Government of Maharashtra is to provide financial assistance to eligible women across the state. Under this scheme, women of age groups 21 to 65 are given a financial benefit of Rs 1,500 through direct profit transfer to improve their health and nutrition and strengthen their decisive role in the family.Earlier today, in a major step to promote industrial development and employment generation in Maharashtra, approved investment proposals of Rs 1,35,371.58 crore in Cabinet Sub-Committee, Thrust Sectors and High-Education-based industries under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.These projects are expected to generate about 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities across the state.The 12th meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, formed under the leadership of CM, was organized in the committee hall in the State Legislature to approve the incentive under the promotion (PSI) for large and mega projects (PSI) and Thrst Sector Policies.Deputy CMS Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary OP Gupta (Finance), Rajagopal Devora (Planning), and other senior officials of various departments were present.A total of 19 large, mega and ultra-Maga projects were considered for special encouragement based on their investment scale and employment capacity. Of these, 17 projects were approved. Projects include semiconductors, silicon ingots and wafers, solar cells and modules, EV components, lithium-ion batteries, aerospace and defense equipment, textiles, green steel and greenfield gas-to-chemical production.These 17 approved projects will bring investment of Rs 1,35,371.58 crore and create about 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities in Maharashtra.
