16 killed in Pakistan building crash

Karachi: The toll of death from a collapsed multi-storey residential building in southern Pakistan increased to 16 as a search operation to find people for the second day.Officials said on Saturday that the rescue team pulled 10 more bodies from the rubble during the night operation.The government -run civil hospital said in a statement that it found 16 bodies, in which many injured were admitted to the hospital. Emergency officials said that rescuers are using heavy machinery to discover at least eight and the remaining people, which are believed to be trapped under the debris.The residents stated that the building was located on a narrow road, obstructing efforts to bring additional heavy equipment.
