The FBI conducted a criminal inquiry into former CIA director John Brainon and former FBI Director James Comi during the alleged misconduct during the Trump-Russia investigation, Fox News Digital said citing sources in the Department of Justice.Two DOJ sources familiar to the case described the pair’s conduct as a “conspiracy” and allegedly making a wrong statement for the Congress.Brainon’s investigation follows the recent disintegration of the “Lesson” review of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, which concluded that Russia intervened to benefit Donald Trump in the 2016 election. However, the reviews revealed that the assessment was gathered in a hurry, married by “procedural discrepancies”, and distracted by the installed intelligence protocol.The review found that the 2017 intelligence community evaluation violated the Ner Intelligence standards, including the infamous steel dosier and damaged its credibility. It also marked the first official approval by the CIA career officials of political influence in the construction of ICA, which revealed that Brainon pushed for the inclusion of the dosier, later despite the Congress testified that he opposed it.
