‘Dusk to work with Indians’: City in London set the woman on fire for racial remarks, she now sues the bank

City Bank London fired a senior employee, as he said it was a bad dream to work with Indians.

An former citizen employee N Watson, who was fired in 2023 for his comment that it was a bad dream to work with the Indians, now accused the bank that it was misrepresented. Watson was giving an internal job interview in which she told an Indian -origin interviewer that her project failed as she was working with a team of Indians. “There is no crime for you,” he said that the interviewer was also of Indian origin. He said, “The project failed because I was working with a team of Indians. There is no crime for you, Kapil, but you know what Indians are, like to work with it,” she allegedly said. When he commented, the interview was stopped and Watson was asked to wait in the online waiting room. When the interview started again, he said, “Now this is your chance, Kapil, to get me back.”The HR team later approached him after a month of interview and said he was fired for his racial remarks. In the statement of his witness prepared for London hearing, he said, “I was afraid to listen to them because I would not blame a culture or country for any kind of failure or would direct any such comment towards an interview panel, with which I was applying for a role,” he said in his witness to hear London.

‘Can’t remember due to menopause’

Watson said she did not refuse to comment, but could not remember it due to long Kovid -19 and menopause symptoms. She said that she was regretting, although whatever she has been said is no reminder. City said its investigation in Watson was fair and fair, and was standing with the decision to set it on fire. Watson said the firing was very harsh and did not take into account her 12 -year service in the bank and came at a time when she was going through a difficult menopause. The bank said that its menopause situation could not be made or contributed to racist comments.
