New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday staged his staging against the Election Commission and accused him of conspiring to “steal mandate” in Pol-bound Bihar, as was done in Maharashtra last year.Addressing a public meeting in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Rahul said that the pole body is working for the Bharatiya Janata Party and not doing its work.The Congress leader said, “The BJP is constantly attacking the constitution. The way elections were stolen in Maharashtra, such an attempt is being made to steal elections in Bihar. To steal elections, the Election Commission has started a new conspiracy. The Election Commission is working for the BJP, not doing its work,” Congress leader said.“Between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Maharashtra, one crore new voters appeared, but no one knows who these voters were or where they came from. We have repeatedly told the Election Commission – give us voter list, give us videos, but the Election Commission is not providing them.It comes in a line a few months before the assembly elections on a special intensive amendment of the electoral rolls in Bihar. The opposition has claimed that the practice will remove millions of citizens from the electoral rolls.However, the Supreme Court on Friday organized the constitutionality of EC practice, but also asked to consider Aadhaar, voter ID card and ration card as a valid document for the ongoing practice.According to the pole body, exercise is part of its crack on illegal migrants from countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar.The poll panel reminded the constitutional provision that says only Indian citizens can vote. The EC said in a statement, “The Constitution of India is supreme. All citizens, political parties and the Election Commission of India follow the Constitution.”The pole panel already has about 78,000 booth-level officers (BLOS) and are appointed more than 20,000 for new polling stations.More than one million volunteers will assist real voters, especially old, sick, disabled persons, poor and other weak groups during special intensive amendment.Among the current 7,89,69,844 voters, 4.96 crore voters, whose names are already in the final intensive amendment of the electoral roll on January 1, 2003, “bus to verify, so, fill the calculation form and submit it.”The annuemation form should be filled between 25 June and 26 July, after which the draft voter list will be published on 1 August 2025; The period for filing claims and objections will be from 1 August to 1 September, and the final voter list will be published on 30 September.
