India’s Chief Justice Bra Gawai said on Saturday that the Indian legal system is “badly of fixing” and facing unique challenges, including tests that often stretch for decades.Speaking at the convocation of Nalsar University of Law in Justice City, Hyderabad CJI expressed concern over the status of the judiciary system while addressing the students. The event was chaired by the Chief Minister of Telangana, a Revantha Reddy, Supreme Court Judge Justice PS Narasimha and Chief Justice of Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Sujoy Paul at the convocation ceremony.Justice Gawai said, “Even though I conclude that our legal system needs to be fixed, but I am carefully optimistic that my fellow civilians will increase challenges.” Highlighting systemic issues, he said, “Delay in tests can sometimes go for decades.Addressing graduate students, CJI showed confidence in the upcoming generation in solving the challenges faced by the Indian judicial system and encouraged them to do further studies abroad on scholarship rather than making their families financially cumbersome.
