‘Should I talk in Hindi or Marathi?’ Both of them miss ‘laughter’. Bharat News

New Delhi: Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam expressed gratitude after being enrolled in the Rajya Sabha on Sunday, in which his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed a moment. Nikam said that PM Modi personally called him to share the news and asked, “Should I talk in Hindi or Marathi?” Before switching to Marathi for the rest of the conversation, news agency ANI reports.“I thank President Drupadi Murmu for nominating me. When I met PM Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha election campaign, he expressed his confidence in me. Yesterday, PM Modi called me to inform me about nomination. He asked if he should talk in Hindi.Nikam said that he accepted the proposal without hesitation. He said, “I immediately said yes. I thank the leadership of the party and also Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.”Nikam is known for his role in prosecuting high-profile criminal cases, including Ajmal Kasab and 1993 Bombay blasts in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Nikam is one of the four persons enrolled in the Rajya Sabha by President Murmu in the recognition of his service in various fields. The other includes former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardan Shringla, Kerala-based social activist and educationist C Sadanandan Master and historian Meenakshi Jain.The nomination was done under Article 80 (1) (A), read with section (3) of the Indian Constitution. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced appointments through an official notification, which fills the vacancies made by retirement of the first enrolled members.
