Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday investigated the attack on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath in Patiala, allegedly called by Punjab Police personnel. The officer will have to submit himself to the court on Wednesday with a case record.Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj directed a petition filed by Colonel Bath, who accused the accused police of “preservation”. In a recent petition, Colonel Bath demanded a transfer of investigation to the CBI or a senior Chandigarh police officer as part of the court monitoring.The IO has shown reluctant to investigate the case “fairly and impartially”, the petition said, the Chandigarh police allege that “is bent backwards to keep the accused in a safe shelter”. Colonel Bath, Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, said that he is “a helpless victim of the extreme cruelty and high-speed of the Punjab Police”.He expressed “full disappointment” that since the registration of the FIR, more than three and a half months, and three months of investigation, the Chandigarh Police was handed over to the Chandigarh police, not a single accused has been arrested, nor has been “related to investigation”.
