‘Distressing’ status: 800 children testing for alleged infectious disease in childcare centers; Working permits despite being reported

Australian authorities recommend an infectious disease test for about 800 children at four childcare centers, where a person, who is now facing several allegations, including child rape, was employed.26 -year -old Joshua Dale Brown was arrested in May and is currently facing 70 allegations. Police allege that according to the BBC, they abused eight children between the ages of five months and two between April 2022 and January 2023.Brown is scheduled to appear in the Melbourne Magistrate Court in September.A notice on the Victorian Government website stated, “We admit how upset it is for all the families and now every possible effort to provide the necessary important support.”It follows the first advisory for about 1,200 children in 20 childcare centers to undergo tests as a precautionary measure.On Tuesday, police identified four additional childcare centers, where Brown worked between January 2017 and May 2025. An earlier listed center was later removed when it was confirmed that he did not work there.Authorities have assessed the possible risk of exposure to infectious diseases, “It is unconfirmed whether Brown has conducted a positive test for any sexually transmitted infections. However, officials said that due to the nature of alleged crimes, some children may still have to undergo screening.At the time of his arrest, Brown did a legitimate job with children examining, a compulsory withdrawal to work in childcare, and actively employed as a childcare worker, the authorities confirmed.According to the BBC, the case has created wide resentment among the parents, not only on the disturbing allegations, but also as a systemic failure in the government’s childcare screening process.Brown had allegedly upheld his approval, allegedly abused, despite being flagged off at the same childcare center at the same childcare center, where it was allegedly abused. The earlier reports were not related to sexual misconduct, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.The childcare operator who employs G8 Education, Brown has announced a plan to rapidly track the installation of security cameras in its network of more than 400 centers.
