Canada: Small aircraft kidnapped in Vancouver, flight services disrupted

SOfficials said that the Vancouver International Airport came to a brief stagnation on Wednesday as the federal police received a report that a small aircraft was kidnapped, the officials said. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in British Columbia, the alert came at 1.10 pm (local time), stating that a Sesna was abducted from 172 “Vancouver Island area and was entering the airplane near Vancouver International Airport,” reported CBS News.Officials said the suspected living in the aircraft.“We have an aircraft that is kidnapped and in the area around the airport,” a tower controller has warned other aircraft, according to the audio on the website liveatc.net, CNN said. “Just if anything starts moving towards you, you have the ability to move to your discretion.”The CBC stated that the aircraft was seen flying low and banking to the right, and “A few minutes later, we saw another pass … the aircraft was making a big clockwise circle,” said Paul Heni quoted by CBC. The incident caused a temporary stop in flight services for 39 minutes at Vancouver International Airport. Nine inbound flights were taken to other airports. A Westjet Airlines Boeing 737 was asked to end its landing due to “wicked 172”, which was about four miles ahead of it. The suspect was “arrested without any incident” according to RCMP when it landed at the airport at 1.45 pm (local time). Officials have not yet disclosed much information about the suspect.Sesna 172, usually used for flight training, departed from Victoria International Airport and flew to Vancouver about 40 miles north, where it began to circulate.
