Kolkata: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP-government states of targeting Bengali speaking people and illegally detaining people of imposing “super-emergency”, claiming that her government received around 1,000 such complaints since June.“I am very sorry, hurt and my heart is broken. People are being harassed to speak in their mother tongue,” he said in continuous rains after leading a Trinumool Congress march at a rally in Kolkata on Wednesday.The Chief Minister said, “The people of Bengal have chosen me. People of Bengal will keep the BJP politically detained in the elections. If they are kept in custody. If there are attacks then there will be vengeance, I will reply. I will give you a warning today.”Bengali migrant workers have faced custody and exile against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, especially in Odisha and Maharashtra. Workers claim that they have valid documents like Aadhaar and voter ID card to prove their Indian citizenship. But the authorities have allegedly demanded birth certificate and other documents, which lack many migrant workers.Bengal is collecting such a full number of such detention, Banerjee said, she said that she would not label the Bengali-boats as Bangladeshi or Rohingya.
