New Delhi: US State Department on Friday nominated Resistance Front (TRF), which claimed responsibility for a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) and a specially designated global terrorist (SDGT) on 22 April.Highlighting TRF’s involvement in several attacks against India, the Foreign Department, including the deadly Pahgam attack, said that the decision showed the Trump administration’s commitment to “protect American national security, combat terrorism and implement President Trump’s call for justice after the Pahgam attack.”“TRF and other affiliated surnames have been added to the designation as FTO and SDGT for Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Executive Order 13224 respectively. The state department has reviewed and maintained the FTO designation of the letter. Amendments to FTO designations become effective on publication in the federal register, “read the statement.On April 22, a terrorist attack at Besaran Meadow in Pahgam, which claimed the lives of 26 citizens, was a close conspiracy by Pakistan’s spy agency ISI and terrorist group Lashkar-e-Tabiba (LAT) on the instructions of the political and military brass of the country, and was excluded by Pakistani terrorists. In the same sources of the late-ISI joint project for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) gave specific guidelines to Pakistan-based Lashkar Commander Sajid Jutt to deploy only foreign terrorists for fierce target killings in the Besaran Valley of Pahgam. To ensure complete secrecy, no Kashmiri terrorists were taken on the board, and instead, foreign terrorists working in J&K for some time were asked to execute the murders, ensuring minimal local participation on the “need-to-cure” basis. The Pahalgam attack squad was led by a suspected Pakistani special forces commando Suleiman, who trained in the late Muridke hub in Punjab province of Pakistan before crossing the LoC in 2022 with his M -4 weapon to enter the Jammu region. Two other Pakistani terrorist squads were members. Satellite phone analysis has shown that Suleman’s location on April 15 was in the Troll Forest, showing that he was in the area around the attack in Basaron, about a week before the incident. Suleman was also involved in an attack on an army truck in Poonch in April 2023, killing five soldiers. However, he kept low for the next two years before executing the ISI-Le Mission. Sources did not disclose the identity of two other Pakistani terrorists, who closed the selected 26 civilians – all men and 25 of them were Hindus.Currently about 68 foreign terrorists and three local terrorists are active in the valley. So far this year only one local terrorist recruitment has been reported.
