New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajiv Bindal on Sunday accused the Congress -led state government of cheating unemployed youth by launching a ‘Job Trainee’ scheme instead of fulfilling his poll promise to provide regular jobs.Addressing a press conference, Bindal cited an old video of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in which he promised to provide 1 lakh government jobs annually. He said that other Congress leaders including Rajiv Shukla, Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri had made similar promises before the assembly elections.According to Bindal, the state government’s recently notified scheme, where candidates will continue to be engaged as ‘job trainees’ in Group A, B, and C posts, with a certain stipend instead of a regular salary for two years, was a way to delay in addressing unemployment. Candidates will be considered regular jobs only after passing the examination or efficiency test.“In its first cabinet meeting, the Congress government announced to fill 63,000 vacant posts and create 37,000 new. Instead, it has introduced this trainee plan, which is just an argument to avoid jobs for at least one year,” said Bindal. He further alleged that only people with political connections are getting employment under the current regime. He said, “This is a government that either makes people an anti -decision or no decision.”
