Court: An attack on ‘Honor Killing’ civilization | Bharat News

Chandigarh: A district court on Saturday sentenced two brothers to life imprisonment for killing his sister’s husband on a love marriage in a district court in Kaithal, Haryana, announcing a very foundation attack of civilized society, on Saturday.The trial court said, “The crime committed crime was inspired by cruel, prefabricated, and misconceptions of respect, for which there may be no justification. The punishment should reflect the collective discretion of the society and send a clear message that ‘respect kills’ has no place in a civilized society ruled by law.”In 2014, unhappy with his sister Pooja’s love marriage to Balinder Singh, his brothers Sunil (now 27) and Dilbag (now 31), Jindoli village called Balinder to Kaithal after taking their mother into confidence. The couple and Pooja’s brothers met in a park, where Sunil and Dilbag shot Balinder on October 18, 2017, said Deputy District Attorney Sukhdeep Singh Grewal.Balinder’s brother filed a cedar against Sunil and Dilbag. At the time of murder, Balinder and Pooja had a two-and-a-half-year-old son. The child is now orphaned, because Pooja has also passed away.
