The International Chase Federation (FIDE) revealed on Monday that India would host the 2025 FID World Cup.The site has not been decided yet, but the tournament is scheduled from 30 October to 2 November.The world’s top players will exclude it for the iconic title and qualification locations in the 2026 FIDe candidates.Fid CEO Emil Sutowski said: “We are thrilled to bring the Fide World Cup 2025 to India, a deep roots passion and support for chess. What is the format?

The FIDE World Cup 2025 will compete 206 players in the knockout format.This phenomenon has used several formats over the years, but since 2021, it has followed a single-origin format. Each round consists of three days: two classical games in the first two days, followed by tie-breakes on the third day, if necessary.In the first round, the top 50 players receive the bye, while the players competed from 51 to 206, based on the principle of the top half, the pair versus reversed the lower half.
