New Delhi: Assuming that Ed called senior advocates Arvind Datar and Pratap Venugopal to give legal opinion to customers in an alcoholic case, Attorney General R Venkatarmani told the Supreme Court on Monday that all investigative agencies have been asked not to make this mistake in future. “We will frame the guidelines in this regard,” AG told a bench of CJI Br Gavai and Justion K Vinod Chandran, while it was listening to a Soo Motu case about summons, which was later withdrawn.“ED officials are crossing all limits. They should know that under the law, communication between a lawyer and his customer is a privileged communication,” Gawai said.
