CONG’s J&K Statewood Stir Ally NC Sulking | Bharat News

Srinagar: As the Congress started protests in Delhi for the restoration of the state of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed displeasure at not being consulted or informed by his India block ally.“Let them talk to us first. We only read about these things (protest) in newspapers. No one reached us. Even during the recent India Block Meeting (19 July), no mention of these things was made. Did they inform us, we joined,” when asked whether NC would return the Congress movement.Omar’s statements reflected the “calm disappointment” within the rank of its National Conference (Neck) on the “sudden interest” of the Congress in the issue, some such protests may delay the state as Narendra Modi-left NDA at the center would not want to bake under pressure from protest.Omar said that the restoration of the state was a long -standing demand of his government and his party. “We pass a proposal for this long ago in the cabinet meeting (October 2024) and later in the assembly. It is good that the Congress finally remembers the issue after a long time. But if they need our support, they should first talk to us,” Umar said.On July 17, opposition Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to Prime Minister Modi, demanding the restoration of the state by bringing a bill in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament. Two days later, the Congress staged a protest in Kashmir on the issue.Sources in the neck said that he was caught by the guard by Congress letters and subsequent protests to the PM. “When we believed that the Modi government was showing some inclination towards restoring the state of the state, it was prudent for the Congress to wait until the end of the monsoon session,” said an executive officer of a senior neck.By jumping guns, the Congress may have politicized a sensitive issue and possibly, the restoration of restoration, the neck sources said. NC Senior said, “The Modi government has no perception that it is a product of opposition pressure, even if the restoration of the state of Jammu and Kashmir is its own commitment. The Congress should have taken into confidence before the Congress (Omar) and the neck should have taken the PM before writing or going to protests.”
