Hindu temple replaced with racist frescoes in Australia: Report

Melbourne: A Hindu temple and two Asian-International Restaurant were replaced with racist frescoes in Melbourne, raising concerns between community members in Australia, a media report said on Thursday.The Australia Today web portal reported that the Sri Swaminarayan Temple was replaced on Monday morning with a red-painted racist slurds on the Eastern Suburban Vadhurst Drive of Melbourne. The two restaurants on the Boronia Road were depicted with the same slars on the same day, adding. The Victoria Police confirmed the incident, saying that “There is absolutely no place in our society for hatred-based and racist behavior., The web portal reported that the President of the Hindu Council of Australia, Victoria, Makarand Bhagwat said that it “seems like an attack on our identity, the right to worship and freedom of our religion.” The report stated that Victoria chief Jyceinta Alan called the attack “disgusting” and “racist”, in a private message to temple management. Meanwhile, the Hindu community urged the Interfaith groups to support after the incident.
