‘Spraying with vinegar’: Florida family was arrested for abusing 9 children; Children were locked in a cage

Four adults in Fort White, Florida have been arrested for abuse nine children inside their house, where some were locked in velvet cages, sprinkled as punishment with vinegar, and denied proper schooling. Brian Matthew Griffeth, 47, Jill Elizabeth Griffeth, 41, Delin Russell Griffet, and Liberty N Griffet, 19, were detained on 22 July, after examining a wellness of July 3, which was detected to live inside the family house of the family located in Columbia County.Five children are biological, while four were adopted privately in Arizona. According to the Columbia County Sheriff Office reported by New York Post, they are at the age of 7 to 16.During the wellness check, the authorities were worried that four adopted children were working, while biological children were watching or playing TV. Investigators later highlighted the troubled forms of punishment and control used on children.
Beaten, drugs, attacked
The Griffeths allegedly screwed a piece of plywood to closure the children under a bed bed to trap the children. A 14 -year -old boy told investigators that he was “regularly” in the cot bed cage for most of the day and night and was only out for food or when “he wants to play.” He said that he had to catch his bladder until the morning was released by morning, as quoted by New York Post.Kishore said that he was in fourth grade, did not know his birthday, and was never educated properly. A 14 -year -old girl also said that she was “illiterate” and did not go to school over the years.Investigators revealed additional humiliating practices, forcing children to lie on the floor and suppress a sheet of plywood on them, causing pain and splashes. Brian Griffeth allegedly adopted and defeated the children to a sugarcane, but avoided leaving the mark. The children were also given non-determined medicines and were instructed to lie about the conditions of the house.The court documents received by law and crime include at least one of the at least one sexual harassment allegations of adults reported by NY Post.The family moved from Arizona to Florida in 2024. A 10th child who lived as a spinach child with grifts, was found safe with her biological parents in Arizona. Officials said the girl had gone to Florida with the family, but later approached her mother, begging to withdraw.All four suspects were booked in Columbia County Detention Facility. Bryan, Delin, and Liberty Griffet each was held at $ 500,000 bonds. Jill Giffeth’s bond was listed in $ 1,500,000.The children and families of Florida removed all nine children from the house. Investigators along with the Child Protection Team interviewed each child before the arrest.
