Bihar sir: The Supreme Court asked EC to reconsider Aadhaar and Election ID; India news on draft voter roll publication

New Delhi: The Supreme Court once again asked the Election Commission to consider the donation card and electoral photo identity card, which during the special intensive amendment (SIR) of the election elections (SIR) as acceptable documents to prove the identity of voters, which is going on in Bihar. The Election Commission launched a special intensive amendment (SIR) in Bihar on 24 June. According to the ECI, there are 11 documents, which were required to update a person for a voter roll update and are: any identity card/pension payment order was issued to a regular employee/pensioner, any identity card/certificate/document, which was issued in India before July 1, 1987. Civil, family register, any land/house allocation certificate by the government.The PTI reported that the bench indicated its initial agreement with the order of the Supreme Court, which in its counter affidavit about the Aadhaar, voter card and ration card approval, in view of the Election Commission’s acknowledgment, said.The court noticed that the ration card could be susceptible to forgery, Aadhaar and voter card have an authenticity and should be accepted as legitimate documentation.A division bench, including Justice Surya Kant and Joymlya Bagchi, announced that the final hearing schedule would be scheduled on 29 July.NGO representative, senior advocate Gopal Shankaranarayanan requested a temporary stop on finalizing the election role and publishing the draft role.The court said that since the petitioners had not earlier demanded interim relief, it could no longer be given. The case will be decisively interpreted in the hearing.According to the EC, Sir participated in Bihar for Rs 7.89 crore worth more than 7.24 crores, which was about 92%voting rate. However, several affidavits and field reports challenge the figure, suggesting that the enametions forms were uploaded by Bloos without voter consent. The ADR and other petitioners claimed that even the forms presented were shown to the dead, which increased the concerns of systemic fraud to meet internal goals.The EC has said that “order to speak” and no name will be removed without proper notice. The draft roll will be published on 1 August, and voters or parties can register claims or objections by 1 September. If needed, an appeal can be made to the District Magistrate or CEO.
