Addressing a special debate on Operation Sindoor, Jaishankar said, “I would like to inform the house that on 9 May, Vice President JD Vance called the Prime Minister’s warning of a large packed attack expected in the next few hours. In his response, the Prime Minister made it very clear that if such an attack took place, it was found with a suitable response from our side.,Jaishankar said that the country saw a “new normal” in response to cross -border terrorism and India’s reply was sharp and devastating on 10 May. He said, “Every member has seen satellite paintings in Pakistani air areas. You can see from the situation in those air areas what our answer was,” he said.India launched Operation Sindoor in vengeance for the Pahgam terror attack on 7 April on 7 April, killing 26 civilians.
