Nevada Shooting: Many people were injured after bullets at the Reno Casino Resort; Suspicious

A shoot at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, injured several people on Monday morning, in which a suspect is now in custody. Officials have confirmed that there is no threat to the public, although parts of the property may be closed as the investigation continues.The incident began around 7:25 am (local time), when the Reno Police received an active shooter report in the Valelet area of Casino-Rest, according to KTVN. Within minutes, the officers rushed to the spot and faced the suspect. The Reno police said the bullets were exchanged in front of the suspect, an adult man was taken into custody and later rushed to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.The police have not yet confirmed the exact number of the victims. According to news agency AP, many individuals were found with gunshot wounds, while others allegedly made their way to hospitals on their own. Emergency respondents including REMSA Paramedics, Fire Department teams and Grand Sierra Resort Staff assisted the treatment and transport of the injured.Police officers were involved in the shooting, and Reno Police spokesman Chris Johnson confirmed this as “officer-samil shooting”. The Washo County Sheriff Department also said that an officer was involved in a confrontation at the scene.City Council member Dewon Reese said in a social media post, “My heart breaks for victims, their families and our entire community. Reno is strong, but we are not immune to the epidemic of gun violence that catching this nation.” He also mentioned that “sadly, life is lost,” although no fatal confirmation has been made by the authorities so far.The Sparks Police Department is now leading the investigation with the support of several agencies including the Washo County Sheriff Office, Nevada State Police and Reno Fire Department. The authorities have asked the residents to escape from the area as the investigation is active.Officials say the motive behind the attack is still not clear.
