Door step distribution drugs under review: Rs. Bharat News

New Delhi: India’s top drug advisory body, drug technical advisory body (DTAB), is reviewing whether the delivery delivery of drugs which was allowed by the government during the Covid-19 epidemic, should be continued or not. Minister of State in the Ministry of Health Anupriya Patel said this in a written reply to a Parliament question on Tuesday. The decision comes after a representation of chemist and drugist’s All India Organization, seeking to withdraw the government’s approval for the delivery of drugs, citing alleged misuse and demands an increase in unauthorized sales of pamphlet drugs.Patel said that DTAB had considered the agenda for the refund of the notification at a meeting held on 24 April 2025 (to allow delivery of the doorstep of the drugs). However, there is no clarity on the DTAB stand on this issue. In 2020, the Ministry of Health issued a notification to allow delivery of the doors of necessary medicines as part of the effort to prevent people from coming out, as there was a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of Kovid -19. The owners of the retail shop are opposing as permission remains despite the epidemic ending.
