Virginia Horror: City Councilman Li Vogler dies after a fire; Personal dispute attack

Virginia City Councilman, Lee Vogler, died in a violent attack on Wednesday, when he was set on fire by a man who attacked Vogler’s political work due to unrelated personal matters.The 38 -year -old was immersed in gasoline by the suspect, forcing his way to Vogler’s office. As Vogler ran out, shouting for help, the suspect followed him and ignited the flames.Danville of suspected, 29 -year -old Shotsi Michael Bak Hayes, was taken into police custody, and the allegations are pending. The police have not released much information about how the suspect entered the closed office.The incident occurred in the office of Shoches Magazine, a monthly publication serving South -West Virginia and North Carolina, where Vogler also works as a seller and writer. According to the magazine owner Andrew Scott Brooks, two employees were inside at that time.Brooks described the terrible view, as quoted by AP, “he forced his way to the office, and went to Lee. Next thing, Lee is running through the office covered in Gasoline, shouting to call 911 for our office. The man fired him and set him on fire.”Vogler was immediately flown into a burn unit in a hospital in Chapel Hill, Northern Carolina. Their current situation was not revealed, and UNC health refused to comment.Councilman’s father, Jack Vogler SR, spoke briefly to AP, but did not provide an update on his son’s position.VOgler has worked in the Danville City Council for more than 12 years and currently in its fourth term. He is known for his dedication to the community, formed a group carrying forward Moving Danville to revive the city.Brooks said Vogler’s passion lies in serving the city council and helping the residents with their concerns. Brooks said, “He loves when people call him with anxiety that he can help them, and he is a property for the community for his adult life,” Brooks said.Vogler is alive by his two sons and wife and actively coachs his sports teams.Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin quickly condemned the attack, saying, “Our prayers go to Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler, who was first violently attacked at his workplace today. We pray for a fast recovery for Lee and to be on the entire Danville community for peace.”Danville is located about 140 miles north of Charlotte in Northern Carolina.Investigation is going on as the authorities have continued to collect information.
