Nadda protested for the walkout during Shah’s reply on Operation Sindoor; Kharge says that the protest was more than derogatory remarks. Bharat News

New Delhi: The House leader at Rajya Sabha JP Nadda on Thursday accused the opposition parties of staging a walkout and displaying double standards as Home Minister Amit Shah started responding to the operation vermilion debate in the Rajya Sabha, and insisted that the answer had come from the Prime Minister. Nadda cited an example from the UPA government, when the statement of the Ministry of Home Affairs was discussed in 2008 on terrorist attacks in Mumbai, which was nown by the then Prime Minister and Home Minister in the Lok Sabha and the then Home Minister in Rajya Sabha. However, the Leader of Opposition Mallikrajun Kharge said that the opposition did not come out to oppose his specific remarks, not against the reply to Shah’s debate that ‘Main Akila Hi Nipat Lunga’ (I can handle you myself). Kharge said, “He insulted us all, and we protested against him.”“We said that the Prime Minister is here, please call him in the House …” he said.Earlier, Nadda tried to remind the opposition that the chair had made it clear during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting and in the House that it is the privilege of the government to decide which minister should respond to the discussion in the House.“OPPN parties had demanded to get information about discussion and Operation Sindoor. However, when the opportunity came, they chose to go out (in rupees) without listening to the answer by the Home Minister. Their demand was clearly wrong yesterday and it displays their double standards, the predecessors,” said Nadda. The house was soon postponed after the uproar by the opposition parties. The scene was not different, as the opposition resumed his protest against special intensive amendment (SIR) in Bihar and demanded that the Prime Minister came to the House.Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Prime Minister had already responded to the debate in the Lok Sabha for 1 hour and 42 minutes on Tuesday.“He presented all the facts to the nation through the House. The Home Minister is capable of responding to the debate …” Rijiju said.He said that the government has a collective responsibility, and the opposition does not get to decide who will speak.Along with continuing against opposition members, the House was first postponed by 4.30 pm and then a statement of Suu Motu on the US tariff declaration after Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, claiming that India would take all the steps necessary to protect its national interest.
