‘To late Powell’: Trump called Fed Fed Chief at interest rates; Demands for Jerome after Kugler exit

Donald Trump has called for the resignation of Federal Reserve President Jerome Powell, intensifying his attacks on the leadership of the Central Bank after Fed Governor Adriana Kugler announced his early departure.“Powells should resign too late, such as Adriana Kuggler, a biden appointment resigned. She knew that she was doing the wrongdoing at interest rates. He should resign!” The US President wrote on Friday (local time) on his social media platform, Truth Social. The post follows Trump’s earlier attacks on Powell, where he asked him for “very stupid” and “very political” jobs. “Jerome ‘is very late’ Powell has rewritten it !!! He is too late, and in fact, very angry, very stupid, and very political, fed chair,” he wrote.Trump accused Powell of the country’s cost, “Dollar trillions, in addition to the most incapable, or corrupt, renewal of a building (s) in the history of construction,” adding, “put another way,” very late ‘has been a total loser, and our country is paying the price! “These comments follow the Federal Reserve decision to keep the interest rates stable for the fifth straight meeting, despite repeated demands for aggressive cuts. Trump has constantly argued that inflation has been abolished and that slashing rates will promote growth, homebuilders will benefit and reduce the federal budget. Although Fed’s favorite inflation metric is currently running 2.6% annually, above its 2% target, and many economists have warned that deep rate cuts can further prevent inflation.Joe Biden appointed by Fed Governor Adriana Kugler also announced his resignation effectively from August 8 today. The resignation came several months ago when his term was due to ending in January 2026.Speaking to reporters, Trump claimed that Kugler’s resignation was disagreeing with interest rates. He said, “I think it was on the fact that he disagreed with someone from his party … She disagreed with ‘too late’ at the interest rate,” he said, as CNN quoted. However, Trump said he was “very happy” for an open seat on the Fed Board.
