Bihar Sir Row: Tejashvi Yadav targeted EC with ‘Epic’ Bar – India news attracts IRE

New Delhi: RJD leader Tejashvi Yadav on Saturday said after publicly claimed a political storm that his name had disappeared from Bihar’s voter list – despite having a valid epic number. Displaying the message “No Records” on a large screen during a press conference, the former deputy CM accused the Election Commission of a major conspiracy to eradicate voters before the assembly elections. But when Yadav accused the pole body of cheating, the BJP called it a “illusory stunt”. The pole body also called Yadav’s statement “factually wrong” and said that his name was on the voter role.
’65 lakh names removed ‘: Tejashvi Question EC process
Criticizing his social media, Tejashvi Yadav accused the Election Commission of removing 65 lakh names from voter rolls and presented a set of ten pointed questions. “What is the basis for declaring these 65 lakh voters as dead, transferred, or as absent?” He asked on X, tagged EC. He questioned whether the families of the deceased voters were contacted, and whether temporarily marked as “migrated” were physically verified. He wrote, “If the names of 36 lakh poor voters are removed due to temporary migration, then the figure should be more than 3 crore registered migrant workers who quote the Government of India,” he wrote.
‘We also have demands’: RJD has listed the conditions for a fair process
With his questions, Yadav listed four major demands from the Election Commission. First, he said, EC should publish a booth-wise list of all the voters whose names are excluded, as well as. Second, a classified list of the deceased, transferred, repeated, and unattainable voters should be made public, broken by assembly constituency and booth. Third, the deadline to increase objections – mainly 7 days – should be extended until transparency is ensured. Finally, he called upon the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the issue of this issue.“In a democracy, it is paramount to ensure the presence and authority of every voter,” said Yadav. “If the names are being removed from the voter list and the reasons behind it are being hidden, then it attacked a serious democratic crisis and the voting rights of the people.”
EC, Patna DM Rebellion claims with voter roll details
The Election Commission denied Yadav’s allegations, calling him “mischievous” and “factually wrong”. In a statement, EC said that his name is seen in the Voter List Draft Voter List in the Library Building of Serial No. 416, Polling Station No. 204, Bihar Animal Science University. Patna District Magistrate confirmed this, saying that his name was listed in the first polling station 171, serial number 481. Officials said the updated draft rolls were shared with all political parties on 1 August, and the list of deletion since June was also included for verification.EC reiterated that there is a month of public – from 1 August to 1 September – to increase objections or claim. The Commission said, “Any name will not be removed from the draft voter list without any reason,” stating that more than 7.24 crore calculations were submitted and included.
BJP leaders ridiculed Tejashvi’s ‘confused stunt’
BJP leaders did not waste any time to respond to Yadav’s claims. Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary posted which he claimed that Tejashvi had a screenshot of details and accused him of spreading misinformation. He said, “Your name respects Lalu Prasad with your father. You will do better to close your shop in fraud and false claims.”BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya made an excavation on Yadav’s previous comments. He said, “No person who knows how to find his name on the electoral role, was not long ago, comparing himself to Steve Jobs. The ambition is fine, but the confusion is completely at another level,” he said.Another BJP leader Ajay Alok, called Yadav “a hypocritical like Rahul Gandhi”. “When their lies were exposed, they did not even apologize. These people are hypocritical, fake and corrupt,” Alok said.
