Pakistan Earthquake: 5.4 magnitude shocks many areas; No damage was reported

A 5.4-Quicenic Earthquake killed many parts of Pakistan On Saturday morning, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and the capital Islamabad arose nervousness among the residents, as reported by Arya News.The National Earthquaker Monitoring Center (NSMC) reported that the earthquake occurred at PST at 2.04 am at a depth of 102 km. Its sub -station was located in the Hindukush mountain region of Afghanistan.Shocks were also felt in various regions of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, NSMC confirmed.In Pakistan, trembling was reported in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, SWAT, Malkand, Novashera, Charsada, Karrk, Dir, Mardan, Mohammed, Shangla, Hungu, Swabi, Haripur and Abtabad. It was also felt in several parts of the province of Punjab, including cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Attok, Taxila, Murri, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sheikhupura, Ferozwala and Muridke.Although the earthquake did not cause any loss of life or property, it caused widespread nervousness. Many residents ran away from their homes and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran, according to Eri News.Pakistan is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world, as it is located at the intersection of Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. This collision region makes the region highly unsafe for continuous seismic activities.High-risk regions include Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, which are located near the major mistake lines such as the main central emphasis. Punjab, located on the north -west shore of the Indian plate, is also susceptible. Sindh, although relatively low prone to earthquake is also not free from risk due to its tectonic condition.One of the most powerful earthquakes in the history of the country was the 1945 Balochistan earthquake which measured 8.1 in magnitude.
