‘Nothing happens’: Denmark Zoo asks people to donate their pets to feed their predators; Assurances that animals will be ‘gently wished’

If you have a pet, you can no longer place, an zoo in Denmark is offering an unusual option.The Aalborg Zoo is asking the public to donate small pets – not used for reconsideration, but as food for your captive hunters.The Alderg Zoo located in Northern Denmark said in a Facebook post that the step is to mimic the natural food chain of animals kept there. The zoo states that the effort supports “animal welfare and professional integrity”, and assures that any donated pets will be “gently euthanasia” by trained employees.“If you have a healthy animal that needs to be removed for various reasons, feel free to donate us,” the post said.The zoo lists rabbits, guinea pigs, horses and chickens as an example of suitable donations. Once euthanasia, animals will be used as fodder for zoo carnivores.“In this way, nothing goes to waste-and we ensure the natural behavior, nutrition and well-being of our predators,” the zoo claimed.The post is with a picture of a wildcat that shows its teeth open with your mouth.
