‘Can I say that I won them athletically’: 1984 Trump jokes after receiving the Olympic medal; Prepare for 2028 Games with new task force
US President Donald Trump was presented by KC Wasraman, chairman of the LA28 Organizing Committee on Tuesday with an Olympic medal from the 1984 Los Angeles Games.During the exchange, Trump jokingly said, “Can I say that I have won them athletically? It would be a great honor”He later thanked Vasarman through a post on Truth Social, saying, “Thanks to KC Wasraman, President of 2028 La Olympics …”The medal presentation took place at a White House program, where Trump later signed an executive order for the establishment of a President’s Task Force for the 2028 Olympic Games, which would be hosted in Los Angeles.Calling this phenomenon “amazing moment for the US”, Trump said, “La Olympics are shaping to be a wonderful moment for America. It is going to be incredible. It’s very exciting.”The newly formed task force will be responsible for streamlining security, visa and credential processes, and ensuring that the game is “safe, comfortable and historically successful.” Trump Governor Gavin will serve as a chair instead of Newsom.Vice President JD will work as Vice Vice Chair and the task force will include Cabinet Secretary and other top administration officials.“The United States will not steal trophies from women at the United States 2028 Olympics,” Trump said, “The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee Board Chairman Jean Cyx, praising Jean Cyx, is a USOPC’s women’s sports to step for transgender women.” After the initial silence, Trump questioned the lack of applause, after which the scattered clap was played.Welcoming the Task Force initiative, LA28 President KC Wasraman said, “It takes a significant step forward in our planning efforts and reflects our shared commitment not only to give the greatest, but the greatest, but the greatest world, which the world has ever seen in the summer of 2028.”There will be the first Olympics held in the United States since the 2002 Winter Olympics in the 2028 Khel Salt Lake City.
