‘An insult to Bengali language’: CM Mamta led the rally in Jhargram; NRC attack center, voter list amendment | Bharat News

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Banerjee on Wednesday led a large -scale protest in Jhargram, condemning the alleged attacks on Bengali speaking migrants outside the state and accused the BJP that they were campaigning to harass Bengalis in the name of citizenship and voter list.“If he speaks in Bengali, how can someone be branded as Bangladeshi?” Banerjee questioned the gathering and questioned. “It’s nothing but a conspiracy to bother our people,” he said.She also warned that she would highlight the BJP when the Bengali language attacks and its people continued. “If you attack the people of Bengali language and Bengal, I will expose the BJP before the world,” he said. “If you attack the people of Bengali language and Bengal, I will not remain silent,” he said.The rally focuses around the message that the Bengali language and identity “will never be silent,” Bannerjee saw the distance of about three kilometers through the tribal area. She joined by senior Trinmool Congress leaders, cultural figures and local residents, which were included by local residents carrying the placard reading “Bangaller Epomon Sozjyo Hob Na” (Bengal’s insults) (Bengal’s insults) and “Bungalow Amar Ma” (Bengal, my mother). The rally saw widespread participation from migrant families, students and local leaders, as Banerjee deployed himself as a protector of Bengali pride, language and identity.In various parts of India, protests were held in response to allegations of harassment and discrimination against Bengali speaking migrants.He said a deliberate attempt to marginalize Bengalis, he expressed strong objections on it. “What is the right to the Government of Assam to send NRC notice to the people of Bengal?” He questioned.Banerjee further alleged that the special intensive amendment (SIR) of the voter list was being used as a tool to bring the National Register of Citizens (NRC) through the backdoor. He said, “SIR exercise is being done to bring NRC through backdoor. People are already dying of suicide with fear,” he said.He warned the authorities against the exit of real voters from the electoral rolls. He said, “Not a single electoral should be released from the voter list in the name of special intensive amendment,” he said. Digging the BJP, he said, “They are trying to make a BJP list, not the voter list.”Reducing the BJP’s demand for Nagarji’s documents, Banerjee said, “Do BJP leaders have their own birth certificates? What rights do they have to question the identity of others?”
