TOI Dialogue – Basic structure chapter in Lucknow

As part of its ongoing initiative, “Driving India’s Growth One Dialogue at a Time”, Times of India hosted the latest edition of its major event, toi dialogues – Infrastructure Chapter in Lucknow. The e-Conclave brought major voices from the government and industry to discuss the development of Uttar Pradesh in infrastructure, employment and investment from the government and industry.The incident focused on a transformative journey to Uttar Pradesh, which laid special emphasis on roads, smart cities, green energy and industrial development. The second panel discussion was on the theme “Building Uttar Pradesh prepared for the future” by adding “infrastructure, industry and human capital” and was operated by Sanjay Bhatnagar.The panel consisted of the following dignitaries:

Amit Mohan Prasad: as MSMES growth engine:Opening the discussion, Amit Mohan Prasad emphasized the inauguration of Uttar Pradesh, which was as a top investment destination due to better law and order, progressive industrial policies and factors such as a large consumer base.Highlighting the CM Youth Program, he said that the main scheme of the state is to support one lakh micro enterprises annually in the next decade. He said, “MSMEs are the largest employment generators, which contribute 30% in GDP, 60% for employment and 45% for export.”Pulkit Khare: Skilling for the future:Pulkit Khare emphasized the important link between infrastructure and human capital, given that without the right skill set, the physical infrastructure loses its value. He revealed that only 70% of graduates in UP are considered to be industry-taivar, of which national figures are also less.The initiative taken by him is providing free training programs in emerging domains like AI and it is to bridge the difference. He said, “Any kind of physical infrastructure is incomplete if we do not have a proper human infrastructure,” he said.Shashank Chaudhary: Drings of Up:Shashank Chaudhary addressed the investor Bhavna to be developed, pointing out that UP was once seen as an agricultural state, which is plagued with concerns over governance and infrastructure. However, initiatives such as expressway networks, upcoming airports and electronic manufacturing parks have defined investors’s confidence.“Today, investors appreciate the scale of development. People who have started operations in UP are successfully running them,” he said.Rahul Ahluwalia: You should compete globally:Rahul Ahluwalia offered a comprehensive perspective for ease of doing business, arguing that up should now compete with countries like China and Vietnam, not only with Indian states.He said, “One of the most liberal in terms of trading reforms is one of the most restrictive states,” he saw.Vineet Rai: A time for introspection: Ending the discussion, Vineet Rai admitted that basic infrastructure needs have been met, but the state should now focus on increasing per capita GDP and attaining the aspiration to become a $ 1 trillion economy.Emphasizing the need for joint action by the government and private sector, he said, “The ecosystem in UP requires a significant introspection of itself.”
