New Delhi: After launching the world’s Costlist Earth Observation Mission Nisar on July 30, India is ready to launch a US Communication Satellite -Pollock -2 blued -a weight of 6,500 kg in a few months, V Narayanan, president of ISRO, revealed on Sunday.Block 2 blued satellite has large communication arrays up to 2,400 square feet, and is designed to achieve data transmission speed up to 12 Mbps, enabling voice, data and video communication capabilities for the end users. The satellite will provide direct-to-smartphone broadband connectivity, eliminating the requirement of specific terminals.The next generation American satellite is expected to reach India in sept and will be launched from Sriharikota Spaceport in LVM-3-M5, ISRO’s heaviest rocket. Blumard satellite uses patent techniques of AST and Science to connect with cellphones in the space environment for its spacomobile constellation.Satellite has a communication array measuring 64.38 square meters to establish direct connectivity with cellphones through 3GPP-standard frequencies, in partnership with leading cellular service providers worldwide. After Nisar, Block -2 blued launched Indo -US will further promote space cooperation.Narayanan, who was presented by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan with an honorary doctor of science degree, talked about the rapid strides of India in the field of space technology, during the convocation at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology at Kattankulathur near Chennai.He said that ISRO was established in 1963, in which a small rocket was donated by the US that year to mark the beginning of the Indian Space Program. In 1975, with satellite data given by the US, ISRO performed ‘Mass Communication’ through 2,400 TV sets in 2,400 villages in six Indian states. “From that (humble beginning), July 30 was a historic day for the Indian Space Program. We have launched the Nisar satellite, which is the most expensive ever in the world. Today, we are working shoulder to shoulder with advanced countries, ”Narayanan said.
