GCC-state confirms that 100% of the houses in GCC countries have access to safe drinking water and electricity

A new report by the Cooperation Council for the Cooperation Council (GCC-STET) for the Arab countries of Gulf throws light on the achievements of the major social and infrastructure among the GCC nations. This suggests that all families of these countries now enjoy access to safe drinking water and electricity services, overcome the global average, and outline the ongoing efforts to strengthen families and social welfare.
Full access to essential services in GCC countries
According to data released by GCC-State on August 10, 2025, 100% of families in GCC enjoy access to safe drinking water and electricity. This is a notable achievement that keeps the region above the global average, where 91% of families have the same access. The report emphasizes how GCC countries have preferred to ensure fundamental standard of living for their population as part of their development strategies.Progress is spread beyond utilities. The percentage of primary schools adapted for disabled students is also 100%, which is significantly higher than the global average 50%. In Healthcare, the GCC countries report a coverage rate of 72%, above the average of 68%worldwide. While individual member states have variations, the overall regional performance reflects strong investment in inclusive education and health systems.
Commitment to family and social development
The report reflects these achievements within the broad structure of the GCC population strategy, which exposes the family as an important social unit. The eighth goal of strategy under the Social Development Pillar is completely dedicated to preserving family components and strengthening its social role.To realize this goal, GCC countries implemented several measures aimed at supporting families. These involve expanding social security networks to cover all individuals, to ensure their living requirements are met, and regular assistance is assured. Additionally, the region focuses on achieving civilized conditions through employment generation and encouraging small and medium enterprises, especially under the leadership of women working from home. This family-centered approach underlines social stability and economic inclusion, recognizing the family as a foundation for the good of the community.
