New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday appreciated the security forces for the successful, safe and smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra – as the Pahalgam terror attack and operation was done after vermilion – saying that more than 4.1 lakh pilgrims visited the holy cave this year.“More than 4.14 lakh pilgrims visited Baba Barfani during this year’s Amarnath Yatra, which is a symbol of Indian tradition and devotion. I congratulate all security forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Jammu -Kashmir administration and voluntary organizations to tolerate this pilgrimage.

This year’s annual pilgrimage took place months later, when three Pakistani terrorists joined Lashkar e -Taiba, they brutally closed 26 innocent men including 25 tourists in Pahgam in front of their scary families. The attack inspired India to launch Operation Sindoor, during which its armed forces not only destroyed major terrorist bases in Pakistan, but also killed the neighbor’s military property after trying to target Indian citizens and military establishments.Tight security arrangements were made for the Amarnath Yatra – which started from July 3, but ended with the schedule due to bad weather – in view of the previous incidents, meetings were held to oversee the preparation with Shah.On July 28, while the Amarnath Yatra was going on, the Army, CRPF and J&K police neutralized all the three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack in a joint operation.
