New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the nation from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort for the 12th consecutive time on the occasion of 79th Independence Day.The festival started, PM Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in Rajghat. After receiving the Guard of Honor on coming to the Red Fort, PM Modi hoisted the flag.The theme of this year is ‘Naya Bharat’ showing the government’s approach to achieving ‘Vikit Bharat’ by 2047.“Happy Independence Day to all. May May this day inspire us to feel the dreams of our freedom fighters and to work even more hard to build a Vikasit India. Jai Hind!” PM Modi wrote in a post on X. “This great festival of independence is a festival of proposals of 140 crores,” PM told the ramparts of Red Fort, saying that it is a festival of hope and aspirations.
