New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday marked the 12th consecutive Independence Day address from Red Fort Prommparts, which broke the record of 11 direct speeches of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.On the 79th Independence Day, he unveiled a series of initiatives with the obvious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 to make India self -reliant, technically advanced and financially strong.
Mission Sudarshan Chakra
Announcing an ambitious plan to strengthen India’s defense capabilities, PM Modi launched the “Mission Sudarshan Chakra”, which is inspired by the weapon of Lord Shri Krishna.The aim of the mission is to create an indigenous air defense system similar to Israeli’s Iron Dome to protect important sites including civic areas from terrorist attacks. The Prime Minister set a target of 2035 to expand and modernize this “national security shield”, which is completely through domestic research, development and manufacturing.
First Made-in-India Semiconductor Chips
PM Modi confirmed that India’s first domestic semiconductor chips would come to the market by the end of 2025. The Prime Minister officially rolled out Rs 1 lakh crore “PM Vikasit Rosagar Yojana” with the aim of making a job of 3.5 crore.Under this scheme, the youth entering their first private sector jobs will get Rs 15,000 from the government, while employers who hire them will get financial incentives.
GST improvement as ‘Diwali gift’
Calling it a “double Diwali” for citizens, PM Modi announced that the government will soon implement the next generation GST reforms to make taxes out of essential commodities.He said that changes to reduce financial burden on common people are “required hours”.
‘Samudra Manthan’
The Prime Minister disclosed plans for a national deep water search mission, called “Samudra Manthan”, so that oil and gas reserves in the sea can be detected.This initiative will work in mission mode and is expected to carry forward underwater engineering, mineral resource exploration and ocean research.A large part of India’s budget is still spent on imports of petrol, diesel and gas. The PM announced the launch of the National Dipping Mission to exploit ocean resources with major expansion in solar, hydrogen, hydro and nuclear power.
Defense and space self -sufficiency
The Prime Minister urged young scientists and engineers to develop a completely indigenous jet engine for India’s fighter aircraft.In the space field, he announced plans for his space station for India, as well as preparation of Gaganain Human Spaceflight Mission. He said that reforms have enabled more than 300 start-ups to enter the space sector, with thousands of young new reversals.
Nuclear power expansion
Meeting future energy needs, PM Modi said that India is working to increase its nuclear power capacity ten times by 2047, in which 10 new reactors are already in progress.
