London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that he is ready to meet US President Donald Trump and “will be more happy to meet him”, even warned that Trump’s words “unknowingly can make people fundamentalists” and “he is not a force for good.”The labor politician rejected Trump’s recent personal attacks during the US President’s visit to Scotland, in which Trump called Khan a “a bad man” who did “a terrible job.” Khan described such comments as “water from the back of the duck”.However, speaking at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, he admitted that the exchanges sometimes made him feel “again nine years of age” and as he was “in school playground”, as reported by The Independent. During the incident, Khan criticized Trump’s views on women, black people, LGBTQ+ individuals, Muslims and Mexican. “Somebody has such ideas like he about black people, about women, about gays, about Muslims, about Mexican, I think I am bad. In fact.Khan said that since Trump started his second term in January, the record number of Americans applied for British citizenship and moved to London. “So I think Americans have got good and big taste,” he said.He hoped that Trump would visit London during his upcoming state visit to Britain, emphasizing that the city’s diversity is a “strength, not a weakness.” Talking about diversity, he said, “I think it does not make us strong, not weak, not rich poor.” The London mayor warned that President Trump’s words could pursue extreme ideas in the mainstream and be potentially dangerous. He can inadvertently make people radical, which can inspire harmful tasks.Khan also said that minority in London can face discrimination due to Trump’s statements. He accused the US President of “London and our diversity as a political football, as a proxy for a culture war.”Despite his criticisms, Khan said he would “be happy to meet President Trump”. The labor politician said, “I suspect that President Trump has created an approach about Muslims because in fact, due to the actions of a small minority of bad people who are terrorists and use Islam in a perverted manner. “I want to know President Trump that it is a very small part of Muslims around the world. So if there was an opportunity to meet President Trump, I would have been happy to do so.”
