‘Spirals downwards’: Nikki Haley urged us to strengthen relations with India to compete with China; Warning of ‘strategic disaster’

Former United Nations Ambassador, Nikki Haley, has called Washington to strengthen its partnership with India, warned that reducing decades of progress in relationships would be a “strategic disaster”.,In a piece of opinion for newsweek, Haley described India as a “prized free and democratic partner” and argued that its rise should be seen as a profit for the free world, unlike communist-controlled China, which he said is a threat. He wrote, “To compete with China, the partnership between the US and India should be a no-brine.”Haley underlined that India has the ability to produce goods on a scale compared to China alone, making it important to move significant supply chains away from Beijing. “In short -term, India is required to help the United States to move its important supply chains away from China. While the Trump administration works to bring back the manufacturing on our shores, India stands alone in its ability to manufacture on a scale like China for products that may not be produced quickly or efficiently, such as garments, cheap phones and solar panels.”He pointed India’s growing defense capabilities, deep safety relations in the Middle East and its strategic place with China’s trade and energy routes as a significant advantage for Washington. He said, “India’s growing and safety participation in the Middle East can prove necessary to help to help stabilize the region as the US tries to send fewer soldiers and dollars there,” he said.Haley insisted that India’s economic growth is re -shaping the global balance. As the world’s fastest growing major economy, India represents the greatest obstacle to China’s goal of re -shaping the global order to overtake Japan. Simply put, China’s ambitions will have to shrink as India’s power increases, ”he wrote.Citing 2020 Galwan Valley Clash and ongoing border controversies, Haley said that the US should help New Delhi to a military and economically firm against Beijing. He also warned that letting a business dispute grow in permanent damage could play in China’s hands. The former envoy urged US President Donald Trump to “reverse the spiral downward” in relations with India by interacting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It would soon be better,” he wrote, while India advised to take Tram’s concerns seriously on the purchase of Russian oil and work with Washington to find a solution.According to news agency Annie, Haley concluded that the US should not lose its “shared goals” with New Delhi. “To face China, there should be a friend in India in the United States,” he said.Washington commented amid recent tensions after implementing 25 percent of tariffs on Indian goods, with an effective 25 percent levy set on August 27, increased the total duty by 50 percent.
