Oman set World News in October 2025 to host the First International Asia Rugby Emirates Sevance Trophy

Oman Ragby is ready to make history as it is ready to host the first Asia Rugby Emirates Trophy in this October. With 20 national teams, both men and women, participating from all over Asia, the three -day program is an important step in the emergence of Oman on the regional rugby map. The tournament will not only demonstrate international talent, but will also support ground level development, community engagement and local sports infrastructure.

Oman’s Sultanate has officially inaugurated the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevance Trophy (Arest) as a host – an approved international rugby tournament is taking place from 24-26 October 2025. The announcement was made on 20 August 2025 at a press conference held at the Oman Olympic Committee in Al Ghubra.Nail Al Busididi was present at the event, President of Oman Ragby and Oman National Rugby Sevance Team’s head coach Brian Hopkins.“This tournament is a big step for rugby in Oman,” said Al Busadi. “It reflects the years of dedication to develop the game, support local talent and show Oman on the Asian rugby stage.”Brian Hopkins resonated Bhavna, emphasizing the reach and enthusiasm of the game: “Rugby Sevance is a fast-moving game that is equally accessible to players and fans. Hosting this tournament provides a unique opportunity to motivate the next generation of rugby players and attach the community to an thrilling game experience.The press conference also extended an open invitation to the Kampinski Open Night-Ek Upcoming Interactive Promotional Program, where the attendees can meet the national team, detect sponsorship opportunities, and attach the first time with rugby intake.
Tournament scope and team line up
Arest will bring 20 national teams from all over Asia, which is in the position of Muscat as a regional rugby hub. The event is part of the Central and West Asia leg of the Emirates Sevens Trophy calendar of Asia Ragby.

Preparation and ground level strategy for Omani team
The preparation of the national team is going well, in which more than 50 local players are already participating in training camps. The final squad will be announced after evaluation by a dedicated technical team:
