New Delhi: The family of an Indian student who has been closed in Canada has sought help from the Center and the Punjab government to get his body back. 21 year old Harimrat Kaur Randhawa Hamilton was a student in a seductive college in Ontario.
While waiting at the bus stop on the way to work, he lost his life after hitting a stray bullet. Shots were reportedly expelled from a passing vehicle.
His grandfather Sukhwinder Singh said, “We came to know from our relatives yesterday. She was standing on the road and then a bullet hit her.”
General Manager of India in Toronto Condolences on the death and said on Friday, “We are very sad about the tragic death of Indian student Harisimrat Randhawa in Hamilton, Ontario.”
“According to local police, she was an innocent victim, who was badly killed by a stray bullet during a shooting incident. A murder is currently under investigation,” the official said.
He said, “We are in close contact with her family and are providing all the necessary help. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family during this difficult time.”
In a statement, Hamilton Police said they responded to a shooting reports near Upper James Street and South Bend Road. On arrival, the authorities found Randhawa in the chest with a gun bullet. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed due to his injuries.
