Jammu: A person accused the patient of robbing the attendant and was caught outside a hospital in Bakhinagar area of Jammu on Tuesday, paraded on the streets on the streets, which had a garland of shoes around his hands and there was also a garland of shoes around his neck.Jammu SSP Joginder Singh ordered a departmental inquiry after a video of the incident went viral on social media. In a statement, the SSP stated that the police officer (city) of the sub-division was assigned with investigation, and asked to submit the conclusions within a week. The accused was publicly paraded and humiliated by the police from Bakhinagar police station, SSP said, “The act is unprofessional on behalf of police personnel, unbroken by members of a disciplined organization and asks for a stringent departmental action against them.”Bakhinagar police said the accused was a notorious criminal and part of a gang which was recently busted in the area. A resident of Kashmir, he was found under the influence of drugs and caught after a scuffle and after a long chase, he claimed.According to the police, while buying medicines for a patient, a person who robbed Rs 40,000 a few days ago identified the accused and faced him on Tuesday. The accused attacked the man with a knife, causing injuries and tried to escape.A police officer said, “However, a police patrol paid attention to the scuffle and managed to catch the thief after a chase,” a police officer said: “Some local people also joined the chase and after the thief was caught, he prepared him to wear a garland and was being taken to the police station with a public address announcement.”This is the second such example in Jammu this month when the police gave immediate justice to the criminals after being caught. On 11 June, three people involved in a shooting incident on the outskirts of Jammu were beaten in a full public scene while being taken to the police station. The police later clarified that while returning from the court after receiving the police remand, they were forced to “implement the necessary force”, as the accused had threatened the citizens and even attempted to intimidate the police on duty.Earlier, a thief caught by the local people to snatch a woman’s earrings was thrown, her head was half tons and on April 11, she was paraded to a semi-naked parade before handing over to the police.
