Aamir Khan has highly praised the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) for his latest film, Sitare Zameen Paar, especially the decision to release in theaters. As the film opens in theaters today, MAI released a long statement on its social media handle, so that the actor-maker can be poisoned for his commitment for dramatic experience when the industry is facing increasing pressure from digital platforms and shrinking cinema-to-streaming windows. In an official statement, Mai President Kamal Gianchandani said Khan’s move as a “visionary and resolution” step, “Aamir Khan has always kept the audience first. His decision to bring the star land to theaters is a powerful message-that the cinemas are submerged. This note comes amid increasing concerns over the declining specificity of dramatic release, with many films to streaming platforms within their dramatic start weeks. Aamir, known for a long gap between his selective filmography and projects, recently weighed the issue during a publicist program. You will not buy it. That’s what is happening with films today.”Sitaare Zameen Par, today, makes its dramatic start on 20 June.
