New Delhi: Former Pakistan’s Pesar and head coach Aqib Javed has vowed to convert the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore into one of the most productive academies in world cricket. Aakib, who took over two months before his tenure as an interim head coach of national teams, said that his aim is to make Pakistan’s academies a benchmark for other cricket nations.In the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) podcast, he said, “We should not look at other academies for guidance, but should develop our own system.”Aakib revealed that he had set a six -month timeline to implement a structured system in NCA and its regional branches in Karachi, Multan and Faisalbad.The former cricketer said, “These academies should be run on a system where we prepare quality players of all age groups for national teams and also provide players with the best rehabilitation facilities.”He said that while the NCA is well equipped in Lahore, it has a truly effective and productive system for years.He said, “We are trying to return biomechanics tools and laboratory at NCA after the board was outsourced by the board and dedicating it to the academy in Karachi only.”

AAQIB, who has previously granted coaching to the UAE national team and has served as Pakistan’s bowling coach, stressed that his long -running goal is to identify and nurture talent and establish a system that acts efficiently to the academies, regardless of the change in PCB leadership.The NCA was founded in 2002-03 during the tenure of former PCB chairman Lt Gen Tauqir Zia and was later converted into honor of the late Bob Woolmer, who served as the head coach of Pakistan for four years.
